The Coldest Winter

been on repeat, this

Of Ego & Conrete

Sometimes. Feelings are disposable. Wrongs are justifiable. And people, replaceable.
Either way, we’ve all been on both ends of the candle. The good and the bad. The shadow and the sun. The saint and the sinner. When someone paints me a picture of themselves, of all good. I dispose my illusions of them. But when they do wrong, I forgive them quicker, I justify their shit, easier.
When they leave. I have the choice to replace them. Block the hole with a bigger stone. And when that one gives way, find a bigger one to patch the old hole. Until one day, I’ll fall through that hole and face all the demons and sharp rocks before.

Only then, will I be forced to see the real thread beneath the wax. The good or the bad, the shadow or the sun, the saint or the sinner. But naturally, I will have the final say in perception.
I am after all, just the ego. I decide what these eyes see, what this mind understands, what I want these ears to hear, which feelings should be disposed of, what wrongs are right, and who can take your place, and you and you and you…
…but never me.

I am after all, just the ego.

Bi.Polar.Bear.Baby

There was a little itty bitty baby Polar Bear, who said to his mother one day, "Mom, am I really a Polar Bear?"

His mother laughed and playfully nudged him along with her head."Of course you're a Polar Bear, sweetie."

"Oh, ok," said the little bear; but he wasn't quite convinced. So after a while he asked again,

"Mommy? Am I really a Polar Bear? Really, really?"

"Why, don't be silly, sweetheart. You're a bear."

"How do you know, Mommy? How do you know I'm really, really a Polar Bear?"

"Well, sweetie, it's like this: I'm a Polar Bear, your father is a Polar Bear -- so naturally, you're a Polar Bear, too. Ok?"

"Really?"

"Yes! Really! Now run along and play!"

So the Baby Polar Bear wandered away and tried to play happily with the other cubs. But later, as soon as he saw his father, he ran up to him, and asked in his most polite little itty Polar Bear manner,

"Daddy, am I really a Polar Bear?"

"What? 'Course you are. What else would you be?"

"Oh, I dunno -- I -- " the little Polar Bear faltered, unsure of himself. "I just wondered, you know, if I was -- if maybe there had been -- you know?"

"No, I have no idea. What on earth are you talking about?"

"-- I just -- I mean, really really?"

"Kiddo you're a Polar Bear. You're white, aren't you?"

"Well, I -- oh yes, look -- I'm white."

"Ok, Run along."

. . . and he wandered and he wondered; but still he wasn't happy. So he went back to his mother, and so he snuggled his head against her fur, and said,

"Mommy?"

"Hmm?"

"Mommy, I just wanted to ask you. . .I was just wondering. . .you would tell me, wouldn't you?

"Tell you what?"

"If I wasn't -- I mean, if there was something -- "

"What, pet?"

"Am I really really -- really and truly a Polar Bear?"

His mother had had enough. "Yes! You're a Polar Bear! Why do you keep asking such a silly question?"

And the little itty bitty Polar Bear looked up at his mom with his big, sad eyes, and said,

"Because. . .I'm FUCKING FREEZING, OK?"

From home, with love

home is a familiar face. strange that i see so little of it here these days, taiping. everyone's everywhere. in all honesty, i miss most of the people i grew up with at times like these. funny we all know what ought to be done, yet we let the ego get the best of us. it's sad, but it's an acceptable notion i reckon. people grow apart...change...leave...i mean, that's cool. but it's a bigger shame memories fade through time, no? the only consolation, the bad memories tend to fade also.

tonight, taiping rains. kl sunshine awaits tomorrow. to the people i've wanted to meet and didn't, i'm sorry.
to the people i've met again after so long, it's been good catching up.

''though i know i'll never lose affection, for the people and things that went before. i know i'll often stop and think about them, in my life..."
k, no more emo shit.
